About the Event

Since 1966, Vätternrundan has been held every year in the month of June — a time many consider the most beautiful in Sweden. The route circles Lake Vättern, Sweden's second largest lake, covering a full 300 kilometres through the Swedish countryside.

Through the years, Vätternrundan has rounded the lake over 530,000 times, and the 300 km distance is now legendary among cyclists worldwide. It is one of the longest and oldest mass participation cycling events still running.

Due to security and quality goals, participation is limited to approximately 23,000 riders. Demand is exceptionally high: in 2015, enrollment filled its full capacity in just over a minute.
